The past and the present come together at the Hotel Grimsel Hospiz as the earliest documented guesthouse in Switzerland stood near here in the year 1142. In 1932, when the new hotel was built to replace the lower lying Hospiz, it was the first electrically heated hotel in Europe. This environmental awareness also played a role in the comprehensive renovation of the hotel which took place between  2008 and 2010: the entire hotel is heated by the waste heat from the power plant below. This historic four-star hotel thrones majestically over the Grimsel hydrolake in the heart of KWO country.

As soon as the first snow falls, the Grimsel Hospiz is transformed into a true winter wonderland. High above the Grimsel reservoir, a fairytale landscape opens up, characterized by clear silence and soothing deceleration. In this unique atmosphere, the hospice becomes a retreat for anyone looking for something special.
Another highlight: the excellent cuisine under the direction of head chef Roman Crkon, who has been awarded 15 Gault Millau points. His cleverly composed menus, which combine regional ingredients and creative finesse, make every stay an unforgettable culinary experience.
