Those looking for an adrenaline shot will get it here! A gradient of maximum 106% makes this the steepest funicular in Europe. Built to transport the heavy construction materials for the Gelmer dam, the funicular is today open for adventure-seeking  hikers and transports them in no time up to 1860 m.a.s.l. Once at the top, a walk around the turquoise coloured lake is a must.

Handeck Swingbridge
The Handeck swingbridge spans the gorge and takes you 70m above the Handeck waterfall, a spectacular view! The bridge is located near the bottom station of the Gelmer funicular, on the footpath that leads to the Hotel Handeck.
